The History of Assembly 1094
The first Fourth Degree Assembly in Houston, Texas was chartered in 1910 and was originally known as Houston Assembly 803, because their initial membership came from Houston Council 803. The first organized official meetings began in 1911 with the first elected Faithful Navigator being T. J. Donoghue (1911-1912). The Assembly was re-chartered as Monsignor George A Wilhelm Assembly on May 1, 1945 in honor of past Faithful Friar, Monsignor George A Wilhelm, Pastor Pro-Tem of Holy Name Catholic Church. Monsignor Wilhelm was born on December 15, 1879 in Columbus, Ohio and was ordained to the Priesthood on June 18, 1906 at Josephinum Papal Seminary, Worthington, Ohio. He served as a missionary through out Texas and finally settled in Houston where he died on February 19, 1960.
